I have coached Tucker in basketball and have observed him as Director of the flag league and when you think about Leading by example he has cornered the market. Tucker is that person who is always picking his teammates up with words of encouragement and always gives 100% effort. He leads by example in the classroom as well being recognized as one of the top students. Here is an example of his character. In a recent football game after a loss Tucker felt he didn't give his best in a game so later that morning he decided to call the coach to talk about what to improve on and as a great leader would do, took the accountability on his shoulders for the team. When the coach told me of the phone conversation I could see that he was so impressed with Tucker and his character as a young man and the commitment to caring for his team and coaches. His sportsmanship alone makes any team he plays on in this town a better Wallingford.
